How are the ON points calculated?

The ON points have been created to allow you to:

  1. Compare the intensity of your different sporting activities whatever the sport
  2. Compare the intensity of your sporting activities with those of your friends by taking into account your physiological settings (weight) in order that everyone is equal whatever their build.

The ON calculation is based on the number of calories that you’ve burnt during your sporting session. 100 ON corresponds to your energy expenditure for 30 minutes of active walking (daily amount of physical activity recommended by the world health organisation).

If your cycling earns you 200 ON points that therefore means that you’ve burnt as much as if you had walked for 1 hour at a brisk pace. You’ve done “2 times as much sport” as the daily recommendation.

If you earn 300 ON points and your friend has earned as much, it means that you’ve both used as much energy as each other. However, the calories you have burnt may be different as you don’t weigh the same.
